BRIDGES REHABILITATION AND SAFETY WORKS IN MONTECATINI TERME (PT)

Bridge inventory, safety assessment, structural investigations, design, health and safety coordination, and works supervision for the safety upgrading of the Via del Cassero overpass and the bridges over Fosso Salsero and Fosso Borra in the Municipality of Montecatini Terme – SP26 Camporcioni.

The assignment involved the assessment and safety upgrading of three bridge structures in the Municipality of Montecatini Terme.

The engineering activities were carried out through a progressive, multi-level assessment process, with increasing levels of detail and complexity, covering the entire workflow from the initial survey and structural assessment to design and construction supervision.

The project was developed through the following phases:

• Phase 1 – Bridge inventory and data collection;
• Phase 2 – Preliminary visual inspections and definition of the Attention Class;
• Phase 3 – Detailed investigation and testing programme to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the structures and their condition;
• Phase 4 – Structural modelling and detailed safety assessments;
• Phase 5 – Assessment of results and definition of the required safety and rehabilitation measures;
• Phase 6 – Structural design and preparation of the Health and Safety Plan for the required works;
• Phase 7 – Health and Safety Coordination during construction and Works Supervision.
